18 weeks..revised...

We're at 18 weeks now...and Sunday I finally felt Bubba moving around in there!
Here's a picture of the belly right now...

So, a lot of people at Church and Work still don't realize I'm pregnant...Here's my thinking though, 'Do I just look like I'm putting on weight for the winter then?'...Here is another picture...now can you tell I'm pregnant?!

If I stick it out then you can see it's a baby, not just rolls of extra fat.. Thanks for all you people who just thought I was gaining weight at an alarming rate and didn't say anything!

400th post...and it's a good one!

So this Video is not all that exciting to watch...but it's awesome to listen too. I had my 14 week check up today and wanted Jon to be able to hear the babies heartbeat. You have to listen very carefully.

Check back in 2 weeks for ultrasound pictures! (they almost had to get the ultrasound out today, since the nurse couldn't find the heartbeat. She was getting a little worried and had to go get the doctor. Who found it in no time! )

Bagram

These Videos are for Jon T Pants...this was filmed last week, the night part was filmed while he was on shift. Too bad they didn't get a picture of him riding around in his 'bread truck'. You can tell they are our Jets, because they have SJ on the tail. Another side note, I love General Kwast. He was here when we first moved here and spoke at the intro. briefing. He is a no-nonsense kind of guy. He was just a Colonel then though.

Stop that Whining

Okay before you watch this video you should know the background. So Nikki and I dragged poor Charlie all over to a bunch of different Thrift stores on Friday. After like 5 hours though, he was finally getting cranky...So Nikki starts saying "Hey, Stop that whining" (one of her friends told her to say that when her son starts whining, and we both laughed about that..thinking it would never work!) Well, here's how it works:

Not too bad huh?

Brown Town Updates

Some of the things going on around here:
I got this in the mail from Liam Hampton... (click on it to see it bigger...it's worth it!)
Here's a picture of our new bathmat... it's nice and soft. (exciting right?!)

This is our Dogwood tree in the backyard...Beautiful!

I spent last Friday with Nikki and Charlie. We spent the day thrift store shopping. Charlie was such a good boy!
It's Fall and the trees around here are just gorgeous!
Now you are caught up on some of the fun around Brown Town. And just so you know.. I already know I'm boring!!

61

Today is the 61st day that Jon has been gone...So I guess that means we are over the hump and headed down the other side!

This is what I get to see when I go to bed at night...and when I take a nap! Jon made me this awesome pillow case...He didn't want me to forget what he looks like.

Trunk or Treat...

This will probably be boring for most of you, I just put this in here for Jon to see...Last night our Ward had our Annual Trunk or Treat /Chili cook-off / Pie contest...Here are some pictures:

Jon's Little Buddy Landen ..so cute (even shared a piece of candy with me)

Morgan..Dressed as Sariah (I told my Seminary Class that if they dressed as a Book of Mormon character they could get credit for a missed day of class) Morgan was the only one who took me up on the offer.

Morgan and another Student Tyler...he said he was Nephi, but I couldn't quite believe that.

Here's our Missionaries...with Clark, a soon to be Missionary. Bunch of nerds!
The Chili was great, the desserts even better and of course one of my favorite friends was there, with her cool hubs, to keep me company in all the craziness....Kaitlyn, next year we'll dress up...with our kids...and make the husbands too, Then maybe we'll get more candy!!

How I came to be in the state I'm in...

Most of you already know this story, but I thought I'd share it with the rest of the new folks.

So Jon and I have been trying to get Pregnant for about a year and a half now. It's been a challenge, because I had to get off of all of the Medication that I was taking for my Fibromyalgia and Migraines. Well, with the help of my awesome Doctor, Dr Hogarty, who got me off all of the Medicine by using Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment. So far I haven't had a flare up in over a year.

Well, after a year, I finally got a referral to go to the Infertility Doctor. They didn't have any new appointments for 4 months though, which would've put the appointment in October, when Jon would be gone. (I really wasn't sure how that was gonna work out, so I was really upset about that)

Jon left at the end of August and the next day I had to start teaching Seminary. Needless to say I was very stressed out. So when I missed my Period that week, I wasn't all that surprised. I let it go for a few days, trying not to think about. Then one morning while cleaning the bathroom, I found a box of Pregnancy tests. I thought, just for the heck of it, I'd use one. To my surprise, it came back positive. I was convinced though that it was just an old test. So I used the other test. Which also came back positive. But, coming from the same box, I figured it was old too.

That day I happened to have a Doctors appointment, with Dr.Hogarty. I told him about the tests and he told me that since the tests weren't more then a year old, they were probably accurate. Since he said there usually aren't false positives. I left the appointment, went to Wal-Mart and got another test. Obviously it was positive as well.

Two weeks or so after Jon left, I got to tell him the wonderful news. Luckily it was right after he left, so he didn't have to ask if the baby was his!

My first OBGYN appointment was Monday. That was my 10 week mark. I got to hear the Baby's heartbeat. It was definitely an awesome experience.

Anyway, the punchline of the story is this: The day of my first appointment, was the very same day I was scheduled to go to the infertility clinic. Now tell me that Heavenly Father doesn't have a sense of humor!

The Browns and their Birthdays...

So today is another Brown's Birthday! Happy day of Birth Lance...I'm sure your best Birthday gift will be to get home to your awesome Wife and cute sons...can't wait to see pictures of your latest trip to Africa.

We here at Brown Town also owe a BIG TIME apology to the cutie pie Levi Brown. We missed his birthday! In all the drama of Jon leaving, we missed Levi's Special day. So here is a very belated First Birthday Shout out....We love you Levi...and your cute chunky thighs!!

p.s. why are chunky thighs on a baby cute...but on an adult, not so cute?

The Reason

I've always had a hard time waiting for things I want. I just hate waiting! Well, tomorrow in Seminary we're talking about Blessings. Here is one of the quotes that was part of the lesson. It's by Richard G. Scott : "We see such a limited part of the eternal plan He has fashioned for each of us. Trust him, even when in eternal perspective it temporarily hurts very much. Have patience when you are asked to wait when you want immediate action. He may ask you to do things which are powerfully against your will. Exercise faith and say, 'Let Thy will be done'. Such experiences, honorably met, prepare you and condition you for yet greater blessings."
Lately I've been thinking about how Blessed we are and about how there really is a reason for everything that happens. In the time that it happens. There are many reasons for the time things come to us. Like the reason we love it here in North Carolina is because of the wonderful people we've met here. The loving Ward Family that has welcomed us with open arms. The reason I'm teaching Seminary is because...well, I'm still not sure why I'm teaching Seminary, but it is teaching me how to get up early and the importance of quality nap time. The reason Jon is Deployed is so he won't see me sooo sick right now. And the reason I'm sick right now is because I'm pregnant!
I guess it's true that good things come to those that wait. Because as you know we've been waiting a looong time for this!

It's my Mom's Birthday!

Happy Birthday ... To the Woman who gave me life... The Woman who nearly bled to death bringing me into this world... The Woman who probably thought several times about taking me back out of this world... The Woman who has had the most influence in my life, even when she thought I wasn't listening... The Woman who taught me how to Phoon ... The Woman who supports all my crazy ideas and still loves me.

Happy Birthday Mom I love you!!

Jon's Home away from Home...

Home Sweet Home...
Some of you have been asking where Jon is...Unfortunately I can't say. It's G-14 classified. Since he's in the middle of enemy territory, I can't give out his location. I don't want the Taliban knocking on his door. (cause I know they read and love this Blog...Who doesn't?)
On the inside...looking down the hall. These are all separate rooms.
This one is Jon's...I'm very disappointed he didn't make his bed! At least he has his own space.

Here's his Closet..all neat and tidy...

And here is 'The Cadillac'...AKA the bathrooms / Showers.

Thanks for the pics JTP...keep 'em coming.

See you in a few months Jon T Pants...

He's got his Cheez-its and he's ready to go!

One last group photo!! I love you Honey!

Deployment packing

Christmas came early for one little boy in Brown town this year.

I think he's ready to defend some freedom!

Jon got all kinds of new gear. Gloves, goggles, bags etc. Plus four new uniforms and two pairs of boots. Even new winter gear which he's been wanting for a while.

Packing..
He had to cram it all into two big duffel bags and his carry on back pack.

Good news is: He did it!

My little Buddy...

Remember in the 80's the 'My Little Buddy' Doll? (I know you're signing the song in your head...'My Little buddy, My little Buddy'...and now we know your age!!!)

So Jon has his own real life version of this doll. His name is Landen, he's in our Ward and he's in love with my hubs. He's been wanting to come over to our house for forever and finally he got the chance...So he came home with us after Church. He and Jon grilled up some hamburgers and hot dogs and after we ate we went for a bike ride. Here they are airing up the tires:

Landen's ready to go!

Isn't he the cutest kid?!

Now look at the doll again....total look-a-likes!!
After the bike ride, we came home and hung out for a little while before they went Home Teaching. Landen played on the X box and Jon played on the computer...
When they got back from Home Teaching, we took Landen home. It was a fun afternoon. Thanks again Renee for letting us borrow your cute kid!!
