Jon T Pants is now the Big 35!

Even though Jon's Birthday was on the 23rd, We celebrated it in a big way last night. (I made the cake and hid it from him so he couldn't see it...I think he liked it) The Hamptons had us all over for an awesome steak dinner, Mom and Jerry, Gramma and even the Elders were there. It was a fun time, I think Jon was most excited by the dollar store gifts the boys got for him, then proceeded to play with! Or maybe it was when Colin blew out the candles on the cake for him!

Yesterday was a Special day..

Last night, Jon and I (Meredith, AKA ruler of this blog) Were Sealed for Time and all Eternity in the Las Vegas, Nevada Temple. (Sealing...An ordinance performed in the temple eternally uniting a husband and wife, or children and their parents.) It was an awesome occasion. We waited through two years and three Bishops to be able to be Sealed. So you can see why we were sooo excited to finally do it. We set it up when we found out we would both be in Vegas, so we could have family and friends attend.

Thank you to the Lukers, Hamptons, Bensons, Hilbus' and Rosemonde for attending, thank you for your Love and support, we love you all very much.

Jon's favorite Ramen place in literally the whole world

So after the Sealing we (Jon,Me,Mom,Jerry) went to Jon's favorite eating establishment in the Whole Wide World. (if you know Jon, you know this is allll he talks about when he knows he'll be in Vegas. He'll talk about it for weeks before the trip and then remember it for weeks after. No other Ramen is as good a theirs! (not even mine!) )

It Finally Snowed Here!!

Our trip to Asheville

Jon wanted to exchange some motorcycle parts with a guy, so we went over to Asheville on Friday afternoon and came home Saturday. We stopped at a bunch of Antique stores and thrift shops along the way and on the way home as well. Except for the coooold, it was a fun time! (we went to one antique mall that was in an old tobacco barn, really great stuff, but it was sooo cold inside, you could see your breath! ) Jon got a few more razors to add to his collection, but that's another post for another day.

Jon said we could go to the Biltmore Estate, but since it was sooo cold, I told him I just wanted to drive by and take some pictures. They won't let you see it though, unless you pay for the tour....maybe another trip. We did get to see this really fancy McDonald's though! I think that's genuine gold platting!

Look at the beautiful hills and Mountains...

We found this little piggy when we got lost...well, we really weren't lost. When we put the address of the house we wanted to go to into the Tom Tom, we (I) didn't notice there was a BlueBird Lane and a Blue Bird Lane (with a space) and long story short, we ended up in the back woods of North Carolina, Jon heard Banjo music and I was just plan scared! It was pretty wild. When we called the guy we were meeting, and said we turned at a fork in the dirt road, he said "what?!" yeah we were waaay off, it turns out we were all the way across town!

Jon can be so boring sometimes...

Where are Taryn, Devan and Nikki when we need them?! Jon was totally singing...until I turned on the camera. He's such a stinker, so I decided to get back at him through this Post. Enjoy!

Adventures in Guacamole making...

For dinner with the Elders, Jon wanted me to make some Guacamole. Okkkkay, I don't even like the stuff! But I gave it a shot and I think it turned out yummy... Well, as yummy as that nasty slimy stuff can be. It's got all the great stuff I don't like..raw onions, avocados, cilantro etc. Thank goodness for my Magic Bullet!! (and the recipe book it came with) I think it's suppose to look like baby food right?!

Jon's new (to him) Toy

Friday we went down to Jacksonville Florida to meet Jon's BFF Alan and his wonderful wife Bobbi, to pick up Jon's new toy. Plus we got to eat at Sonny's, lot's of fun!!! The 9 hour trip home though was not so fun.

Mount Olive, New Years Eve Pickle Drop

Last Night we went to the 10th annual Mount Olive Pickle Drop. It was cold, but they gave out free hot chocolate and cookies and of course, Mt. Olive pickles!
