Jon...a memorable person...
(click on the picture to read it)
We got this in the mail yesterday...Isn't Liam a good writer? I like the part where he says 'We might never go back to the Air Force Base again, only if we work there'
Jon likes it all (of course) he said it was very well written and completely true. I think his head swelled up a wee bit more then usual.

Blue Angels
Today, Team Seymour and their Families got to see the preview of "Wings Over Wayne" Air Show. However,if you want to go, you have to be accompanied by your Airmen and they have to be in uniform. I've been excited about the Air Show coming to town, but have not been looking forward to the circus that it'll end up being. Then the other day, hubs came home and told me about the 'sneak peak' for families, the day before the show.....YEAH!!! So I told him "We are totally going to that" To which he replied "We'll see"...Which in Jon's language means "LIKE HELL!!"
And that's when I started my campaign. I call it the 'WE SURE AS HELL ARE GOING' campaign. Where I tell him in a wide variety of ways that we are going and there will be consequences if I don't get to go. In other words I nag and complain until he says "Okay"
I don't usually use this tactic to get what I want, simple because it doesn't really work that often.
So I figured I wouldn't be able to see the show. Then this morning while on the Bikes at the YMCA (before swim class) I discussed this matter with my friend Gerald (fellow swimmer). He suggested I go to this spot at the end of the Flight Line and watch it from there...so we planned to meet up there. But when I got there, the road was blocked off. Man was I mad! So I called Jon and woke him up (he's working the midnight shift) and said "Get up and Get dressed, cuz you're taking me to the show" and to my surprise he said "Fine"
He took me, but he wasn't all that happy about it:

All in all it was a great time. I took tons of video footage of the Jets, but can't seem to upload it yet...Jon said "You can see clips of the Blue Angels On-Line" and yeah you could, but I told him "There's nothing like the sun beating down on you, the wind in your hair, the Jets flying so close you can feel it in your chest and the ground shaking under your feet." It's an awesome experience. (stay tuned for the video) When we got home he said "Don't expect anything else out of me for awhile!" Sure whatever, we'll see!

My name is Meredith and I'm a FaceBook addict...
Can I just start off by freely admitting that I LOVE Face Book. It's a great was to connect with old friends and keep up with relatives that live far from you. Now having said that, it's also a great way to avoid doing important things. Like cleaning the house, laundry and whatnot... My advise, set a timer and when the times up, walk away...just walk away.
What brought this Post up is three things: #1 Today I reconnected with some of my awesome friends from High School...#2 I got to chat with my wonderful sil (sister-in-law) who lives in Florida and I haven't gotten to see in a while, so we were catching up on gossip (hey Nikki!)...and #3 I thought if I talked about how cool it is then maybe more of my family members would join (Erin, Mom, Jon)
Anyway, in honor of my old friends I've found on Face Book, I went through some of my old pictures and posted some of them on my Page there. Those were some fun times and I can't believe it's been 14 years since I've seen most of them. Since some of you awesome Blog readers aren't on FB, I thought I would post some of the pictures here...
I wore this little number to church.
(Mom...remember those days? You miss them too don't you?!)

Progressive Easter Dinner
To celebrate Easter today, we had a Progressive Dinner. We started out at our home for the Salad, went to the Nelson's home for the main course (ham and funeral potatoes!!) And ended at the Smith's home for dessert (a delicious fruit parfait) It was a great time, with some truly awesome friends. It's good to have friends when you're far from family on special holidays like today.
Farmer Brown's garden '09
We put the Garden in yesterday. We planted about the same stuff we did last year. 20 Tomatoes, 18 Peppers (Bell, Jalapenos, Banana, Cheyenne) Cucumbers, Eggplants, tons of different Herbs and we transplanted our Green Onions. We're going to get some Squash and Zucchini as well. I took lots of pictures so we can see the progress when it starts to grow.
And...Big news, I am now the 'President' of our Ward's Garden Club. We'll be starting that up this month. (I know, I'm big time now!)

Adventures of the Redbull and the Mighty Max
The adventure started out innocently enough, we were just trying out the new and improved RedBull on Sunday afternoon. Then Jon called his friend Chris, owner of The Mighty Max, and Chris told Jon about this cool trail to go on. So we went on the trail over by Chris' house. We were going along, having fun, until we got stuck!
And boy were we STUCK! So Jon called Chris to pull us out of the mud...and about a half hour later, Chris showed up to save the day in The Mighty Max. But, as he was trying to pull up a hill to get in front of us, he got STUCK!
Jon and Chris worked on trying to get The Mighty Max out for another half or so and finally called Chris' buddy Devan. So Devan shows up in his truck with a tow chain, and after some work, he got The Mighty Max pulled of the side of the hill. He then proceeded to race the Max up over the hill, nearly getting stuck again in the process. That dude Devan is CRAZY! Once he was over the hill in front of us, he pulled The RedBull out and then went back home.
Jon and Chris then decided we should continue on up the trail. So we went along further, no problems, having fun, until we saw another muddy spot. The men got out of the trucks to check out the situation and thought it'd be passable. Jon told Chris to go first and if he made it then we'd go too. Well, Chris took off like a rocket and got most of the was across, but just didn't quite make it. He got sucked into the mud and in the process of trying to get out, got himself even more stuck...
We didn't have a long enough tow rope to pull him back out. So Jon took us down a side trail, to try to get around on the other side of Chris, but the trail ended right where Chris was stuck. When we took the side trail, it led us back out to the highway. We couldn't cross back over though, because there was a river next to the road....Long story short, we ended up going to Devan's house to pick him up and his tow chain. By the time we got back to Chris, it was dark. We backed in as close as we could get behind The Mighty Max without getting stuck ourselves, but in the process of trying to tow Chris out, we did end up getting stuck as well...In the end, Chris had to call another one of his buddies, Jerry, to come and get us both out of the mud pit. Thank goodness he got us out...We started our adventure at 4pm and didn't get home until after 10pm...All in All, it was a fun time. Jon, Chris and Devan all got a little muddy...I only got a picture of Jon though...
I think that'll be the last time we go Off-Roading on Conference Sunday. I'm sure you all remember two years ago in Arizona when we went Off-Roading on Conference Sunday and got stuck then too..That time though, the Olsen's rescued us. So lesson learned...no Off-Roading adventures on Sunday!! Jon is going back out to play again today with Chris and he's taking the Guy who gave us The RedBull out with them...I'm glad I'm not going!
